Show Me Love DC, LGBTQ Abuse Prevention Campaign, Launches

This Month, Women Empowered Against Violence, Inc. or WEAVE launched Show Me Love DC, an innovative campaign designed to promote healthy relationships in the District’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) communities.

Show Me Love, DC is guided by an advisory committee of domestic violence professionals, advocates and community activists including Break the Cycle’s own Senior Staff Attorney Tonya J. Turner.

The campaign has an interactive web hub, ShowMeLoveDC.org, featuring information on healthy relationships, resources for LGBTQ survivors and the campaign’s “Postcard Project.”

In conjunction with LGBTQ Pride Month, the Show Me Love, DC campaign will host a series of events throughout the District including a Launch Party at Pulp on June 11, an interactive art-based Postcard Project, community-based conversations, a Metro bus ad campaign and information tables at local Pride events.
