Peer Leadership Program

Break the Cycle’s Peer Leadership Program engages clients, students and volunteers in the organization’s mission to end domestic violence. Through the Barter, Student Liaison and Youth Voices programs, young people are empowered to become the next generation of leaders in the domestic violence prevention movement.

Barter Program

Break the Cycle’s Barter Program helps our legal services’ clients to understand that they have valuable skills, talents and experiences to contribute to the organization and the community we serve. By participating in a range of projects, clients become more invested in the services they receive. They also learn that they can contribute to Break the Cycle’s mission and help others make the transition from victim to survivor.

Youth Voices Program

Break the Cycle’s Youth Voices Program empowers high school students to raise awareness about dating and domestic violence among their peers. Members participate in an intensive peer advocacy-training program and then conduct outreach in their communities through educational presentations, speaking engagements and the creation of written materials.

Student Liaison Program

Break the Cycle’s Student Liaison Program develops student leaders in the movement to end domestic violence within college communities. Student Liaisons are trained to coordinate outreach and education opportunities on campus, while building relationships between Break the Cycle and individuals and organizations on campus that share an interest in this important issue.
