Kickball Game
Hosted by: Unity House: Domestic Violence Services
About:
With February as Teen Dating Violence Awareness month, the opportunity to engage young people in the discussion of healthy relationships is never as great as it is now.
Stalking, sexual violence and trafficking, just to name a few, are issues that we see more and more of our young people dealing with on a day to day basis.
As a collective, Unity House strongly believes that being preventative is more effective than being reactionary. That mindset is what drives UHDVS to put on these Teen Dating Violence Awareness events directed at the youth in our community, and this year is no different. On February 29th from 4:30pm-8pm, Unity House Domestic Violence Services will be hosting an event- a kickball game, at MD Sports Hall, located in Troy New York. We will have a dialogue led by Unity House staff members about Teen Dating Violence, its importance, it’s prevalence, and ways that we all can become allies and end dating violence amongst young people for good, followed by the kickball game and we’ll end with some food. In addition, we will also have a time/space set aside for those amongst us who would like to share their personal experiences with us. As a precaution, there will be licensed support staff on hand. And as always, this is a free event, put on for the community, where everyone is welcomed
