As part of the Kids 4 Dodgers program, Break the Cycle had the opportunity to bring 150 young leaders, ages seven to 18, and their families to the Monday, June 16 Los Angeles Dodger game. We brought along the FC Long Beach Girls U9 soccer team, as well as student leaders from University High School and King Drew Magnet High School in Los Angeles.
That night, every young person received a free ticket, t-shirt and voucher to enjoy a classic Dodger dog. For many, this was their first baseball game ever! That said, everyone got in the swing of things quickly, as they started the Wave and cheered on the Dodgers as they beat the Colorado Rockies.
“It was great to see the girls dancing and singing and enjoying the game,” said Fabian Santillan, the girls’ soccer team coach. “I remember Break the Cycle coming to talk to my school about healthy relationships during Respect Week,” added one high school student. “I never thought I’d get to go to a Dodger game with them too!”
Thanks to everyone who helped us cheer on the Dodgers - Go Blue!
