Media Team

Break the Cycle’s Media Team is an auxiliary group of PR, marketing and media professionals who help promote our life-saving work with teens. This team meets over the phone on a monthly basis to brainstorm, offer expert advice, trouble-shoot and help goals for upcoming opportunities.

Skills You Will Use

  • PR & Marketing – Apply your professional expertise to helping teens prevent, diagnose and escape unhealthy relationships. You will help spread a message of health, safety and empowerment to thousands of people nationwide.

Skills You Will Build

  • Creativity – Think outside-of-the-box to help Break the Cycle reach a diverse group of stakeholders including teens, donors, volunteers and partners.
  • Resourcefulness – At Break the Cycle, we are always looking for ways to use our resources more efficiently. Join our Media Team and learn how to turn a small budget into big results.

Leadership Track

The Media Team is similar to a “Board of Directors-in-training.” Members will serve as high-level Break the Cycle volunteers and learn what it takes to sustain and maintain a successful, national nonprofit organization.

Commitment: 12-15 hours annually, including participation in monthly conference calls and ensuing projects if interested

Do you want to speak out about the importance of addressing teen dating violence? Does your community need to be better informed about how to prevent this epidemic?

Break the Cycle is proud to announce the Speak Up. Speak Out. Speak Now! Toolkit. This toolkit will help you further our mission as a trained speaker on dating violence and Break the Cycle’s important work addressing this issue.

Want to do more? Help your community by building a model for future activism! Document your work by taking photos and keeping notes on successes and improvements so that others may join you and Break the Cycle in a national movement against domestic and dating violence.

Commitment: Minimum 20 hours annually
