Break the Cycle trainers work with school and community clinics around the country to ensure that their staff receive high quality training. Training topics include:

  • Dynamics of dating violence and its impact on physical and mental health.
  • Link between dating violence and other high risk behaviors.
  • Warning signs of dating violence and how to recognize the signs of abuse.
  • Screening tools for the health care setting.
  • Confidentiality and mandated reporting.
  • Collaborating with community-based organizations to make referrals.

As part of the partnership between loveisrespect and Blue Cross Blue Shield, Break the Cycle is also conducting targeted trainings for health care workers in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. We will be working with mobile medical caravan employees, nurses, health care providers and concerned advocates to ensure  these professionals have the knowledge, tools and support they need to prevent and diagnose abusive relationships.
