Accomplishments and impact of the Education & Outreach Program

  • Nearly 44,000 teens were educated about domestic violence and their legal rights and responsibilities between 1997 and 2003.
  • To date, youth at over 250 schools, centers and organizations have participated in Break the Cycle’s Education & Outreach Program.
  • Each year approximately 1,000 parents, teachers, school administrators, law enforcement and social service providers are trained by Break the Cycle attorneys to identify and address domestic violence in the youth community.
  • Pre-test and post-test assessments show that students are learning about their legal rights and responsibilities, are experiencing positive changes in attitude, and have decreased acceptance of violence after participating in Break the Cycle’s Ending Violence program.
